Payroll Deduction and the Workplace Campaign
Over the years, United Way Workplace Campaigns have become one of the most popular ways to give back to the community through charitable donations.
Powell River & District United Way depends on the generous support of workers and their employers for a significant percentage of its donations. It is the easiest and most effective way to support a wide range of human care agencies in our community.
A ten-minute presentation to you and your staff helps generate excitement about giving to the United Way and starts you along the steps toward a Workplace Campaign.
A United Way Workplace Campaign unites your employees and enhances leadership and teamwork skills. Campaigns are fun, enjoyable, and great for employee morale. We're here to share ideas and help you plan a unique, energized and successful Workplace Campaign. We will be with you from start to finish.
Giving through Payroll Deductions, spread out over the year, is extremely convenient. Once an employee pledges a contribution, it happens automatically – including a charitable donation calculation on the employee's T4 slip at the end of the year for tax purposes.
Supporting a Workplace Campaign is one way for businesses to increase public, employee and customer awareness of your company's vision.
Some organizations also choose to match their employees' contributions; others donate a per capita amount for each employee; and some budget a specific amount they want to invest in United Way on an annual basis.
Workplace Campaigns continue to be the mainstay of United Way's annual appeal. We ask businesses, unions and employees to consider taking on the challenge.

Preauthorized Debit
This simple, easy way to give provides a regular contribution from your bank account. An annual calculation is made and a tax receipt is provided to you.

Yearly or One-time Donations
We have a pledge form that is down-loadable from our website. We also print pledge forms in the local media during the annual United Way Campaign months of September through November. Or, let us know, and we can put a pledge form in your mailbox.
A cheque can then be mailed to our address, or you could call us to pick up your donation. We'll help you to make giving as easy as possible.
Any financial institution in Powell River can take your donation on our behalf. Just walk in and say "I would like to make a donation to the Powell River & District United Way" and the teller will be able to help you.
We truly appreciate any donation, no matter what size or frequency. It all helps to support and enrich lives within your community.
